About

Your humble author

Mr FFRE (Financial Freedom Retire Early) is a thirtysomething* retiree who worked with several IT giants in India and now writes about how we can all live a frugal yet Bindass/Jakkas life of leisure. My wife and I studied engineering in Bangalore and then worked in standard tech-industry cubicle jobs. I worked for 17+ years and my wife for 11+ years in various IT companies in Bangalore and finally in 2020 we gained our financial freedom.

We both retired from regular 9AM to 6PM real work in 2020 (my wife much before in 2015). We now enjoy every bit of life with our two daughters. Well it wasn’t by luck or some magical skill, but simply changing our lifestyle into a rather simple one. Having a less expensive than most of our peers and investing the surplus in very various investment horizons which includes LICs, Mutual Funds, Term Insurance, PPF, EPF, NPS and last but the most interesting bucket which is Stocks and Derivatives.

I started this blog in 2020 just after retiring from regular IT job with an intention to educate and spread awareness about the importance of money management. I still hear from my friends and former coworkers constantly complaining about how hard upper middle class life is in namma Bengaluru, and how much they would like to be able to afford to lose at least one of their six-figure salaries so someone could stay home with the kids and aging parents and in-laws.

It goes without saying that most folks (at least IT crowd) display same odd behavior: living ridiculously expensive lifestyles, buying expensive cars/bikes, dinning out in expensive restaurants and thinking they were completely normal. In the end they are left with no major savings to buy their own freedom.

So I decided to start this new journey of educating folks and to share some of the secrets of how all this can be done. How to create a life that is better than current one, that just happens to cost 50-75% less.

Happy Investing and Keep Investing.
